Chairback Gap and Cloud Pond Privy Builds
White Cap DistrictWe're building new privies at the Chairback Gap and Cloud Pond campsites this summer, and need your help! The plan is for the materials to be helicoptered to these sites on one day during the period August 8-11. We'll build them after that. There might also be some prep activities on August 16 if that fits your schedule. Access is about 2.5 miles of hiking with ~1,000 feet of elevation gain and a bushwhack. Beginners Trail Maintenance Trip
Height of Land Parking Lot Route 17, Roxbury, ME, United StatesBeginners Trail Maintenance Trip When: Saturday, September 7th. Meeting time will be determined by the participants. Rain date is Sunday, September 8th. Where: Meet at Height of Land parking lot, Route 17, Roxbury, Maine How Long? Approximately 4 hours. Can be longer if we are really having fun. Who? Anyone who wants to find out what it’s like to be a trail maintainer. What to bring? Something to drink, snacks and lunch. Bugs may still be an issue, so insect repellent is recommended. Build Tent Platforms at Black Brook
Baldpate DistrictWe're building two tent platforms at the Black Brook campsite on October 12th; your help is welcome! Access is only 0.1 miles from the South Arm Road, but we'll need to cross Black Brook so if the water is high it might be challenging; if it's too high we'll reschedule.
Gulf Hagas Ridgerunner Packout
White Cap DistrictOur summer ridge-runner is packing up their "home" for the season, and we need some help getting out supplies and equipment. Volunteers should meet at the Katahdin Iron Works gatehouse at 8:30 or the Gulf Hagas parking lot at 9:00.
Horns Pond Ridgerunner Pack-Out
Bigelow DistrictThe ridge-runner season is coming to a close, and we need to pack out all of the seasonal gear. It's a 5-mile hike up with 2,000 feet of elevation gain, and then 5-mile return. Please bring a backpack with space in it to bring some items down. Meet at the Stratton Brook Pond trailhead at 8am. Contact Audrey for more information.
